The duration of your invited talk was provided in your invitation letter. If you are unsure of the length of your presentation, please contact cinp2022-program@cinp.org.

• Plenary Speakers: 45 minutes
• Symposium Speakers: 20 minutes

Presentation Slide Preparation:

• Please use the CINP 2022 Presentation Slide Template to prepare the PowerPoint Slides. Slides must be in 16:9 format.
• Prezi files and animations are not supported.

Session Format and Live Day Availability:

All presentations will be pre-recorded (see duration of talk), and all presentations in the session will be broadcasted at the session date and time. All invited speakers’ session includes a Live Q&A at the end of the session and all session speakers should participate. We will send the dial-in instructions to join the session closer to the meeting.

Featured Oral presenters will be given the opportunity of a 10-minute pre-recorded presentation.

The session will consist of 4 pre-recorded oral presentations by designated Presenters including a 3-5 mins Live Q&A after each presenter. We will send the dial-in instructions to join the session closer to the meeting.

Oral presenters will be given the opportunity of a 15-minute self-recorded video presentation.

• Submit your Self-recorded Video Presentation (.MP4) by May 20, 2022 to this link.
• Your assigned presentation number will be forwarded to you in May in a final confirmation letter.

Poster presenters will be given the opportunity to submit their Poster OR provide a 5-minute self-recorded audio presentation.

In order to ensure your recording session runs without any technical issues, we ask that you carefully read the instructions below and follow our recommendations regarding your technical equipment. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

1. Zoom Desktop App – We will be using Zoom to pre-record your presentation – please download the desktop Zoom App (https://zoom.us/download, click “Download under “Zoom Client for Meetings”). If you have it already downloaded, please ensure that you have the most up to date version. Open your Zoom App > click the icon of you (top right corner) > Check for Updates.
2. Background Image – Apply one of the attached background images in your zoom account. For assistance, please visit https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/210707503-Virtual-Background.
3. Background – If the virtual background is not working well, please remove and move forward with your true room background. Ensure it is tidied up and does not contain any compromising items of conflicting interests.
4. Room Environment – If possible, we would like for you to join us for the tech check/recording in the same location you will be in for the live session.
5. Camera setup – Ensure your camera is centered and that we can see you from the chest up to a few inches over your head. Start a meeting with yourself by clicking on “New Meeting” in Zoom to optimize your camera setup.
6. Headset – We highly recommend the use of headphones with a boom microphone (USB preferred over Bluetooth).
7. Stopwatch – Have a stopwatch ready so you can track your presentation time to ensure you stay within your allocated time.
8. Lighting – Lighting should come from in front of you rather than from behind you. Avoid backgrounds with harsh light such as windows. If you do sit in front of a window, please close the curtains/blinds.
9. Clothes – Avoid wearing colors such as green or yellow as this will blend into the virtual background.

Here are a few tips and best practices that you may find helpful if this is your first time doing a virtual presentation.

• Record in a quiet space: Barking dogs and slamming doors are not just distracting in person, they are also distracting via Zoom! Find a quiet space to meet and shut the door. Place a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door so people know not to bother you.
• Look at the Camera: To mimic the in-person feeling of eye contact. Alternating between looking at the screen to gauge attendee’s reactions and looking at the camera. If your webcam is built into your computer/laptop be sure to have your slides on the same screen as your webcam to avoid looking away from the camera.
• If feasible, stand up: Helps keep things dynamic and energetic (use slide advancer instead of clicking next on keyboard for natural experience).
• Don’t get too close: Position yourself so the camera is seeing you from the chest or waist up instead of just seeing your face.
